The water in Katy

Why Katy tile scales up

The City of Katy runs its own well plants on the Gulf Coast Aquifer and buys additional water from nearby districts. Most master-planned communities around Katy, like Cinco Ranch, are served by their own MUDs instead. Parts of the area fall inside the West Harris County Regional Water Authority, which buys treated surface water from Houston to reduce groundwater pumping.

Groundwater-heavy supply plus Katy's wide-open sun and wind means fast evaporation. On a pool that's topped off often, the calcium line climbs quickly, especially on spillways.

What we see locally

Pools around Katy

Many Katy-area pools are in master-planned communities built from the 1990s onward, often with spas, sheer descents and decorative tile bands. Each feature that's wet and dry in cycles collects scale, so let us know about all of them when you send photos.

Newer sections west toward Brookshire and north toward the Grand Parkway have more recent builds. If your pool was just replastered, media blasting has to wait at least a month after the plaster goes in.

How it works

Cleaning day

On cleaning day the team lowers the water 6 to 12 inches below the tile line (the pool is never drained), removes the calcium with bead or media blasting matched to your tile, and vacuums the media out with our own pumps. Most pools take 2 to 4 hours. Quotes come from your photos and a phone call, and the price we quote is the price you pay.

Neighborhoods we serve include Cinco Ranch, Cane Island, Grand Lakes, Seven Meadows, Elyson and Old Katy.
