The water in Pearland

Why Pearland tile scales up

The City of Pearland pumps groundwater from about ten wells in the Gulf Coast Aquifer and supplements it with treated Trinity River water purchased from the City of Houston. Its newer surface water treatment plant treats Brazos River water carried by the Gulf Coast Water Authority's American Canal.

Because the blend can change, pool owners in Pearland sometimes notice calcium building faster in some years than others. The fix for existing scale is the same: remove it mechanically and keep it from building back.

What we see locally

Pools around Pearland

Shadow Creek Ranch and Silverlake have a lot of pools with tile bands, spas and water features built in the 2000s and 2010s. Spillways and raised walls are often the worst spots.

Pearland's flat, open neighborhoods get plenty of sun and wind, which speeds evaporation. That's why keeping the water level steady matters so much here.

How it works

Cleaning day

On cleaning day the team lowers the water 6 to 12 inches below the tile line (the pool is never drained), removes the calcium with bead or media blasting matched to your tile, and vacuums the media out with our own pumps. Most pools take 2 to 4 hours. Quotes come from your photos and a phone call, and the price we quote is the price you pay.

Neighborhoods we serve include Shadow Creek Ranch, Silverlake, Southwyck, Southdown, Green Tee and Old Town Pearland.

Questions

Good to know

Why does keeping the water level steady help?

When the level drops and rises, minerals dry onto a wider band of tile. A steady level keeps buildup in one narrow line that's easier to brush.

Can tile cleaning remove the stains on my plaster too?

No. Plaster stains need an acid wash or a replaster. We can quote both.

Is Shadow Creek Ranch on the Fort Bend side covered?

Yes, all of Pearland, including Shadow Creek Ranch.
