The water in Kingwood

Why Kingwood tile scales up

Although Kingwood sits next to Lake Houston, the City of Houston's 2025 water quality report lists Kingwood as a separate system supplied by groundwater wells, not the city's main surface water system. Houston Public Works also notes that some areas around Lake Houston are served only by well water.

That report measured Kingwood's hardness at 124 mg/L (about 7.3 grains per gallon), which is in the hard range. Add evaporation, and calcium builds up at the waterline faster than many owners expect.

What we see locally

Pools around Kingwood

Kingwood's villages were built under a heavy pine and hardwood canopy, so pools get a lot of leaves, needles and pollen. The pool needs to be clean and clear of debris before we start, or our pumps clog.

Many Kingwood pools have been in the ground for decades. Older tile and grout get a test spot first, and we adjust the media and pressure to what we find.

How it works

Cleaning day

On cleaning day the team lowers the water 6 to 12 inches below the tile line (the pool is never drained), removes the calcium with bead or media blasting matched to your tile, and vacuums the media out with our own pumps. Most pools take 2 to 4 hours. Quotes come from your photos and a phone call, and the price we quote is the price you pay.

Neighborhoods we serve include Kings Forest, Elm Grove, Trailwood, Bear Branch, Kings Point and Fosters Mill.

Questions

Good to know

Kingwood is next to Lake Houston. Why is my water hard?

Kingwood is on its own groundwater system rather than Houston's main lake-water system. The 2025 city report measured it in the hard range.

Our pool is under big trees. Do you need it cleaned first?

Yes. It must be clean, clear and free of algae and debris before we start.

Will the water be cloudy afterward?

It may be at first. It usually clears in 24–48 hours. If a lot of media is left once it's clear, call us and we'll come back to vacuum at no charge.
